I’m Jodi Nathanson, a passionate and experienced High School English Teacher with over 24 years of classroom experience. I specialize in teaching English Language and Literature, and have worked with students from grades 9 to 12 in both English and Dramatic Arts.
I hold an English Honours Specialist certification from OISE, and I’m a proud graduate of Queen’s University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts (English Major, Drama Minor) and a Bachelor of Education through the Concurrent Education Program.
Over the years, I’ve held multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Department Head and Co-Head of the English Department. I’ve also served as the Co-Director of several school musicals, combining my passions for literature, performance, and education. I’ve contributed to staff Professional Development by leading workshops on innovative approaches to teaching English.
I created TRAVELizta to share my love of the English language in all its expressive beauty — idioms, metaphors, similes, and everything in between. For me, understanding language is a journey, and I’m excited to help others explore its richness one expression at a time.
